For the first few years of Rowdy's fishing career he had no idea about how and why you catch fish. He was content to sit on the bank of a pond with a line in the water. The best times for Rowdy to go fishing me was anytime. He once complained to me that school was interfering with his fishing. His other grandfather lives in Florida and took him fishing in the gulf and on nearby lakes. The very first thing he learned was how to expand the size of fish he caught. He once told me he had caught a 20 foot shark. The other day, he told me he had caught a tarpon.
Rowdy is 10 years old and plays football, soccer and basketball and is a very good baseball pitcher . With all of those activities, his first love is fishing. His Dad has taken him dove hunting in Kansas and deer hunting here in Texas. He would rather go fishing. A favorite pastime of his is watching fishing shows on television. I think I will give him a subscription to Field and Stream for Christmas.
Buying Christmas presents or birthday presents for him is not a problem. I simply go to Academy Sports and Outdoors and get a gift certificate and he is content.
